Advantage Herne Bay after first leg win
SECOND half goals from young James Turner and substitute David Crofts mean it's advantage Herne Bay in their Kent Premier League Cup quarter-final against Hythe Town.
Last night's hard fought 2-0 first leg win at Reachfields means Bay will go into next Wednesday's second leg at Winch's Field as favourites to progress to the semi-finals.
Manager Simon Halsey, speaking to thisiskent, said: "It was an excellent performance. There's always room for improvement but overall I was very, very pleased.
"At the start of last night's game I would have been happy to come away with a draw.
"The most important thing is that we didn't lose.
"Last night certainly puts us in a good position ahead of the second leg."
This Saturday Bay will try for a third time to stage their Kent Senior Trophy quarter-final at home to Holmesdale.
Halsey said: "We're looking forward to Saturday, because we've had a lot of time to think about it."
