TUNBRIDGE Wells's youngest school has celebrated its latest milestone with the first graduation day for students.

The Skinners' Kent Academy's 306 students welcomed guests including the mayor, Skinners' School head teacher Simon Everson and vice-principal of West Kent College Alison Monk.

The school was created last September after the closure of Tunbridge Wells High School.

Following lunch and refreshments made by academy students, the ceremony opened with a procession, and addresses by chair of governors Andrew Boggis and principal Sian Carr.

Mrs Carr said: "It was a wonderful occasion, and a real celebration of the talent we have here. The students have all been a credit to themselves, their families and the academy, and it was with an enormous sense of pride that we celebrated the many achievements they have had this year."
