HOLMESDALE failed to take advantage of their game in hand over league leaders Hythe when they suffered a home defeat to Faversham Town - which keeps the gap at the top to four points.

Faversham Town started the game in fifth place, six points behind the Dalers, and as a result of a single goal courtesy of Damiel Abel on 28 minutes they have moved upto fourth.

The top of the table remains tight as VCD moved to within a point of Holmesdale after winning at home to Erith Town.

With three fixtures remaining Holmesdale's next outing is expected to be another close encounter as they travel to Winch's Field where they face fifth placed Herne Bay.

The remainder of Holmesdale's season sees an away match on April 18 against Hythe Town and a home match the following weekend against Erith and Belvedere.
