AN unemployed Cliftonville man has been banned from mooning in public as part of his antisocial behaviour order (Asbo).

Cheeky Christopher Lehane (pictured right), of Sweyn Road, was told by Thanet magistrates on Thursday that he could face prison if he is seen baring his bottom in Margate.

Police hit him with the order after he exposed himself to female staff in betting shops and pubs after being kicked out for abusive behaviour.

As well as being banned from showing his behind, Lehane, 33, is not allowed to be drunk in public and is barred from The Thanet Gateway Plus in Cecil Square, The Mechanical Elephant pub in Marine Terrace, Margate, and the Ladbrokes on Northdown Road.

PC Susan Luck, who brought the case to court, said: "We are pleased to have secured this antisocial behaviour order as Christopher was causing a problem in the town centre and having a detrimental effect on businesses and residents.

"I would like to ask people who see him breaching the Asbo to contact police so that we can take appropriate action.

"This order is the result of a concerted partnership effort between the police, council and local people."

Speaking after the case, Lehane claimed he had put the loutish behaviour behind him.

He said: "This all happened when I was going through a difficult time and drinking a lot.

"I was causing trouble in the town centre and hassling shop workers.

"But I've changed now. I've got a much better relationship with my family and I'm setting up my home and I don't drink.

"I don't even remember when I got my bum out, I must have been off my head somewhere."
