A STUDY being carried out at Boughton, near Faversham, will find out whether singing helps keep us young.

Researchers want those aged over 60 and interested in taking part to attend the first singing session at the village hall from 10.30am to noon on Wednesday, March 17.

The study will last for six months and volunteers will be split into two groups, with half singing at the hall every Tuesday from 2 to 3.30pm from April 20 to July 6.

Researchers hope it will demonstrate whether singing is good for our health.

Volunteers - even those with no previous singing experience - are invited to join the group, with an opportunity for everyone to join a free singing club when the study ends. Those taking part will also receive a small gift.
